Your day begins with a ferry crossing on the North Channel from Belfast to Cairnryan, Scotland. While the channel is known as part of the Ocean's Seven for long-distance swimmers, most people rely on the ferries that connect northeast Ireland to the southwest coast of Scotland. Cairnryan itself has a proud maritime history, having built floating Mulberry Harbors for the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
